Benchtops Care & Maintenance Guide
Printable VersionCare
TOCCO benchtops (modified acrylic) are a stylish, durable, and renewable choice for kitchens and bathrooms, offering a seamless, non-porous surface that’s easy to clean. To keep your benchtop looking its best for years to come, follow these guidelines.
Daily Cleaning
- Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth or sponge.
- For basic stains, use warm to hot soapy water and rinse with clean water.
- Dry with a soft cloth to prevent streaks or residue.
- Routine cleaning with a White non-woven Pad with Warm to Hot Soapy Water – light pressure in a circular motion.
Tips
- As with anything, prevention is better than cure. With modified acrylic, all but the most severe damage is repairable on site.
- If sanding near hotplates, sinks, or splashbacks, use protective tape to shield these areas.
- If you use a non-abrasive cream cleanser on your benchtop, follow the Light Scratch process afterwards to refresh the surface.
- Modified acrylic is a renewable surface. For the best results, book a professional service every 3–5 years.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals
- Avoid contact with strong chemicals such as paint removers, acetone, oven cleaners, or ammonia-based cleaners.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or alcohol-based cleaners.
Heat Protection
- Modified acrylic benchtops can be damaged by heat.
- Always use trivets or heat pads under hot pots, pans, or appliances (e.g. slow cookers, air fryers).
- Do not place hot cookware directly on the surface.
- Prolonged or excessive heat near gas cooktops and wok burners should be avoided.
Prevent Scratching
- Always use cutting boards when preparing food.
- Light scratching is normal and part of everyday wear.
- Darker colours will show scratches more than lighter shades.
- Avoid dragging heavy or rough-bottomed objects across the surface.
- Fit felt or rubber pads under decorative items and appliances.
- Be cautious of dirt or grit on the bottoms of bags and boxes, as these can scratch the surface when moved.
